Primo Piano LivinGallery has the pleasure of announcing the reopening of the female exhibition “GEO-GRAPHIES: Identity Rituals and Fragile Ecosystems”, curated by Dores Sacquegna at Palmieri’s Foundation in Lecce, Italy.

Monday 25 May from 17:30, the women’s contemporary art exhibition “GEO-GRAPHIES: Identity rituals and fragile ecosystems” curated by Dores Sacquegna, organized by Primo Piano LivinGallery for the World Women’s Day in Lecce, has officially reopened. The event has the patronage of the Municipality of Lecce and can be visited at the Palmieri Foundation, until June 7, 2020. On display 27 international artists who will discuss issues of great social, environmental and cultural diversity. Among them, the works of two great 21st century artists: Louise Bourgeois and LeoNilde Carabba.

On collaboration with Studio Bourgeois of New York, , two important audiovisual works by Louise Bourgeois, including “The Spider, The Mistress, and The Tangerine” (produced © Art Kaleidoscope Foundation, NY, 2008), by directors Marion Cajori and Amei Wallach , shot over 15 years, following the artist, with unrivaled access: a dramatically human journey into life, memories, emotions, the genius of the Franco-American artist, an icon of modern and contemporary art .

Present with great works of Light Art and a video presentation, the Italian artist of Black Light Art LeoNilde Carabba, co-founder of the “Women’s Library” and activist in the “Women’s Movement”. Supported by great artists – such as Fontana, Chin, Crippa, Baj, Turcato, Tancredi, Fautrier, Manzoni, Christo and Jeanne Claude, Accardi – the Carabba has exhibited in various parts of the world and is present in prestigious public collections including: Pinacoteca from Bari; Italian-American Museum in San Francisco in the USA; The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Josè in the USA; Bolivar City Museum in Venezuela; First Museum of Modern Art in Asyla in Morocco; Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza in Spain; Civic Museum of Taverna; MUSPAC-Museum of Experimental Art of L’Aquila.

 Palmieri Foundation (Church of San Sebastiano), displays the multimedia works of contemporary female artists, many of them present in important public collections such as: LeoNilde Carabba (Italy) Laetitia Ambroselli (France), Catherine Bercusson (United Kingdom), Bikkel Artist (The Netherlands), Pey-Chwen Lin (Taiwan), Aristi Hadjisavva (Cyprus), Beatrice Hansson (Sweden), Agnieszka Laskus (Poland), Daria Makarenko (Russia), Brigitt Müller Hunziker (Switzerland), Valérie Novello (France), Christine Palamidessi (Usa), Zhiwei Pan ( China), Margot Reding-Schroeder (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg), Tomomi Sato (Japan), Sal Sidner (Usa), Christel Sobke (Germany), Maria Luisa Imperiali (Italy), Kohlene Hendrickson (Switzerland). In addition to Louise Bourgeois‘ videos, the following videos will be screened every day: Sama Alshaibi (Iraq), İrem Çoban (Turkey), Kacie Lees (USA), Tanja Ravlic (Croatia), Sihui Shao (China), Sall Lam Toro ( Portugal), Sandra Miranda Pattin (Colombia). Catalog on display.

Palmieri Foundation, Vico De Sotterranei, Lecce. Access allowed following the guidelines of the decree-law (phase 2bis covid-19) approved by Puglia’s Region Government  (D.P.C.M. N. 237 of May 17, 2020 )and relating to the guidelines for the reopening of Museums, Exhibitions, Foundations and Cultural Activities to support a recovery model compatible with the protection of the health of users and workers.
